How does it function?
At the start of the cycle, the upper lid automatically opens, allowing the operator to fill the waste into the loading chamber. After the upper lid closes, the shredding process begins. Once the shredding of the medical waste in the upper chamber is completed, the intermittent vacuum process starts automatically.
The shredder, under the control of the PLC unit, switches rotation direction thanks to its “anti-blocking” capability, preventing blade jams. Our specially designed shredder is adept at grinding even the toughest materials commonly found in medical waste.Sterilization is achieved by injecting saturated steam until the temperature becomes homogeneous in both the upper and lower chambers, reaching a programmable range of 134°C to 148°C. Sterilization of the waste and all inner parts of the sterilizer, including the shredder, is then completed by maintaining this temperature range and equivalent pressure for a user-programmable period of 10 to 20 minutes. These parameters allow for a reduction in pathogenic contamination levels in medical waste by 8 Log 10 values. The operating conditions are continuously monitored and validated to ensure complete sterilization.
Sterilization is accomplished by injecting saturated steam until the temperature becomes homogeneous in both the upper and lower chambers, reaching a range of 134°C to 148°C, programmable by the user. Sterilization of the waste and all inner parts of the sterilizer, including the shredder, is then completed by maintaining this temperature range and equivalent pressure for a programmable duration of 10 to 20 minutes. These parameters allow for a reduction in pathogenic contamination levels in medical waste by 8 Log 10 values. The operating conditions are continuously monitored and validated to ensure complete sterilization.
The sterilizer’s temperature is decreased by spraying cool water into the double jacket of the treatment vessel. The resulting condensed water, sterile and safe for disposal, can be discharged into the sewage system, while any remaining residual steam is vented out through the vacuum pump.
Once all safe operating conditions have been verified, a digital signal prompts the operator to press the command button, allowing the sterilized lower door to open for easy unloading of the treated waste. The operator unloads the waste into a closed container provided with each sterilizer. Once the unloading procedure is finished, the lower door automatically closes, and the sterilizer initiates the next cycle.
